I’m so glad you found Nyumbani, a bright and cozy studio tucked away in Fort Totten, one of DC’s quiet, friendly neighborhoods. “Nyumbani” means home in Swahili, and that’s exactly what I hope this space feels like for you — a peaceful home base while you’re in the city. Whether you’re here for work or to explore DC’s sights, Nyumbani is the perfect place to relax after a busy day in the DMV. 🏡 About the Space: You’ll be staying in a spacious, well-lit basement studio with your own private entrance and bathroom. It’s fully equipped for a comfortable stay, including: A kitchenette with a refrigerator, air fryer, microwave, Keurig (with coffee!), kettle, toaster, Brita pitcher, plates, and cups. Access to my back patio grill if you feel like cooking outdoors. In-unit washer and dryer for your convenience. Smart TV with all your favorite streaming apps (Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, etc.). High-speed WiFi for work or streaming. 🛏️ Sleeping Arrangements: 1 queen bed 1 queen air mattress (great for a second guest) Maximum occupancy: 2 guests 📍 Location Highlights: 7-minute drive to MedStar and Children’s National Hospital 10-minute walk (or 5-minute bus ride) to Fort Totten Metro Station 20 minutes to Downtown DC by Uber or train Bus stop right outside the door! ⚠️ Just a note — the studio doesn’t have a full kitchen (no stove or oven), but the kitchenette covers most day-to-day needs.
