Accessible Features: *5 steps to the front door, handrail on steps *Grab bars by entry doors *Hardwood floors (except bathroom) and no thresholds, walker friendly *Interior doors widened (34 inches) *Motion sensors on some of the lights *Faucets are lever style for universal design (kitchen, bath) *Has private, enclosed deck off back bedroom (does have a threshold to access deck) *Bathroom is a zero entry, grab bars, roll up sink (designed to brace up to 300 lbs). Shower has a hand shower feature, attached to additional grab bar for safety. No bench, however, designed to accommodate a variety of shower chair/benches. No glass door, shower curtain so that someone could assist a person showering. Toilet is bidet compatible (with a plug for the fancy features). Toilet paper holder is also a correctly mounted small grab bar. The bathroom was designed to allow a walker to move inside the relatively small bathroom, so enough space to turn etc. There are two doors into the bathroom. One is the "traditional" and smaller door left in place. The other door is a barn door style that is again wider to accommodate assistive devices. High contrast tile between shower and rest of bathroom, for vision impairment to see difference. *Kitchen has a lower countertop height. Cabinets are accessible style, so they have a higher kickplate for walker/wheels from a wheelchair. *Kitchen sink also has removable cabinet to convert it to a roll up sink. *Microwave is not a built it, so it's on the counter for easier access.
