We are in the heart of the historic district in Savannah, Georgia! You're about a 15 minute walk from the world famous Forsyth Park, and a quick walk to the Starland district. River Street and the heart of downtown are about a 20 minute walk away (5 minute Uber). You're close enough to everything to be there easily, but far enough removed to have peace when you return home for the evening. You can walk pretty much anywhere in the historic district, downtown, and The Starland district. You're only about a 15 to 20 minute drive to North Tybee Beach. We think that walking around town is the best way to see the city! But, if riding is more your speed, Ubers are abundant and affordable and there's a free shuttle that takes you anywhere in the historic district at the head of Forsyth Park, about a 10 minute walk away. If you drove here, park on one of the many available metered street spots, plus there is free street parking along Price St, and walk or ride around Savannah. You can also secure a parking pass for the city through the visitor center. It's a great spot to start your stay by grabbing tons of information and flyers for local businesses. ** Note: Attention must be paid to the street sweeping schedule to avoid a parking fine when parking on the street. There are signs posted on the side of the road with sweeping times. Simply move your vehicle to the opposing street to avoid a fine. Also, ensure to pay for parking using the ParkSavannah App. Simply open the app, enter the code on the parking spot found painted on the ground, and pay. Parking is free all day on Sundays and between 8pm and 8am all other days. We ask that the space, other guests, and our neighbors be treated with dignity and respect. This area is shared with other residents, and it is on a first-come, first-served basis with no assigned spots. Free street parking is also available along Price St. Please be aware that even though we spray for bugs on a quarterly basis, you might see palmetto bugs, wasps, and other insects during your stay. They usually come out to die, but please do your best to keep them out of the house by keeping the windows and doors shut at all times, only bringing food items to the dining room, and keeping trash in the trash can.
