The home is an original 1970s gem, built by Homer Boone in 1971, originally owned by Peter McGrath, great grandson of Dominick McGrath (Oxnard pioneer), the house has barely been used and is a two bed 2 bath accommodation. Visit and learn about the rich history of Oxnard and enjoy the nearby historical district, placed on the National Register of Historic Places. We are carefully selecting a quiet and respectful people to enjoy this quiet beach home. Within 5 minutes walking, you will enjoy one of the most quiet beaches with gorgeous dunes nearby. You will enjoy an upstairs deck where you will sometimes hear the waves in the distance and a spacious home to move around in and enjoy. Additionally, there is a spacious living room, loft with desk, and a sitting room facing the rear patio. There are two bathrooms (one with a tub/shower and a second with a shower). House is designated as a Gold Medallion Total Electric Home. During the 1960s and '70s, this recognition meant you were entering a house of technological wonders and had the most innovative energy of the time. Although the home is not high end or luxurious, it is furnished with original and reproduction mid-century furniture and is mostly original 1971. The small TV downstairs is not turned on but there is a small to medium size flatscreen (with Roku) in the bedroom and a larger flatscreen with Roku in the living room. Starting in November and December, the house does get colder as there is no central heater and very little insulation due to the unique A-Frame design. However, you are welcome to use the portable electric heaters. There are also original electric heaters built into the walls of the living room and sitting room. Enjoy the rock garden with tropical plants downstairs or the front yard planted with beautiful California native plants from the Channel Islands. If you prefer a shady area, you will find a table and two chairs in the back yard where you can enjoy the Giant Bird of Paradise plants and more tropical feel.
