We’re 1.6 miles from the iconic Santa Claus House & even closer to North Pole amenities, restaurants, & shops including hardware, auto parts & groceries. Only 15 minutes to Eielson AFB & Ft Wainwright, we are an ideal location for work, relaxation, adventure or all three! A quiet cul de sac in a family friendly neighborhood in North Pole, Alaska, surrounded with peaceful nature and tons of outdoor activities. Of note, if you would like more space, there is a larger unit with a large king bedroom, well stocked full kitchen, stackable full size laundry and fold out couch is on the opposite side of the same building. If you book both units, up to 6 guests (3 couples) can stay together: look for Aviators Aurora Lakefront Retreat. This hotel room type unit is packed with everything you need for an efficient stay, including refrigerator with freezer, microwave, standard toaster, Keurig, and spacious writing desk. This apartment is perfect for aurora viewing from the front yard in the winter. In the summer, you have access to the lakefront including: fishing poles and gear, swimming, and many boating options (canoe, giant and standard standup paddle boards, sit on top kayak, and life jackets). A grill is provided for your enjoyment. Two bicycles are available on request. This airplane hangar apartment offers an authentic Alaskan experience without roughing it. Located in the heart of North Pole, it is enveloped in nature as well as set up perfectly for Aurora viewing. We have recently seen moose, lynx, fox, and families of migrating swans on the lake! The space is outfitted with all the comforts of home, including a high quality sheets with classic Pendleton bedding, new smart TV, ceiling fan, and room darkening shades. This authentic Alaskan venue is perfect for your trip of a lifetime. Guests may use anything within the unit and on the lake. Access the lake via the concrete dock to the front of the apartment for paddling, floating, swimming, and winter cross country skiing. Please help us keep everyone safe by respecting the hangar, not touching the airplanes right outside your front door and not walking on the runway. We live nearby and are happy to offer advice about visiting Fairbanks and the North Pole area. This Bnb is aviation accessible for those with their own float planes. You can fly in on wheels, skis or floats to our 2500 foot float pond or 2500 foot gravel runway: Airway Field (5AK3). Please call ahead for local aviation information. If you are arriving by car, 4-wheel or all-wheel drive is highly recommended during winter months. Your dog may be welcome if requested in advance depending on interview and references.
