Beware the time zone change! Please note that Laporte is situated in the central time zone, along with many of the cities to the north or west such as Michigan City and Valparaiso,. However while neighboring cities to the east such as South Bend, Mishawaka, Elkhart, and Benton Harbor it is IMPORTANT TO NOTE these towns operate on Eastern time. This time zone difference is important to consider when planning your travel to and from these nearby cities and especially the South Bend Airport! .
