It’s 4-miles long and roughly 2 miles wide. The lake is 2,850 acres with a maximum depth of 225ft. At certain times of the day, it glimmers with an emerald-colored hue because of light reflecting off the unique pale sediment from the incoming creek. ✔️ There are 3 campgrounds located on the lake with tent and trailer sites. There is also a swimming area, boat ramp, picnic tables, fire rings and restrooms provided at the public boat ramp. ✔️ Recreational boating includes water skiing, quiet canoeing and fishing. 🔹 The Surroundings 🔹 Corky's Cabin is perfectly positioned for discovering the very best of Northwest Montana. Whether you’re craving small-town charm, big-sky adventures, or local culture, everything is within easy reach: ✔️ Town of Lakeside (30 mi / 50 min): Groceries at the market, Session Grind coffee, casual lakeside eateries (try Harbor Grille), and Flathead Lake Marina. Don’t miss Tamarack Brewing. ✔️ Kalispell (18 mi / 35 min): Historic downtown with boutique shops, art galleries, and the Community Food Co-op farmers market (Wednesdays & Saturdays, June–September). Don't miss the Hockaday Museum of Art. ✔️ Bigfork (35 mi / 55 min): Arts village on Flathead Lake—enjoy the Bigfork Summer Playhouse, galleries, specialty shops, and the Adirondack Days festival each July. ✔️ Whitefish (32 mi / 55 min): Mountain town at Big Mountain’s base—Whitefish Lake State Park beaches, live music at Great Northern, and a Saturday farmers market. ✔️ Glacier National Park (50 mi / 1 hr. 15 min): “Going-to-the-Sun Road,” Logan Pass shuttle, and hikes to Avalanche Lake or Hidden Lake Overlook. Timed-entry reservations recommended for May–September. ✔️ Montana Vortex and House of Mystery (37 mi / 1 hr.): Where gravity defies the laws of physics. ✔️ Flathead Lake (28 mi / 45 min): Largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi—ideal for kayaking, paddleboarding, or scenic boat tours to Wild Horse Island, plus lakeside wineries. 🔹 Seasonal Highlights 🔹 ✔️ Summer: Lakeside Farmers Market; Kalispell Bluegrass Festival; Rebecca Farm Equestrian Show; Flathead Cherry Festival (mid-July) ✔️ Fall: Jewel Basin foliage drives; Big Sky Brewfest in Whitefish 🔹 Additional Activities 🔹 ✔️ Ziplines ✔️ Hot air balloons ✔️ Helicopter rides ✔️ Mazes 🔹 Wildlife and Fishing 🔹 ✔️ Some of the native wildlife you may spot during your stay may include, but not limited to deer, elk, moose, bobcat, lynx, mountain lion, bear, wolverine, badger, eagles, hawks, and owls. ✔️ A pair of loons live right on the Ashley Lake ✔️ Ashley Lake fishing is good for kokanee salmon, cutthroat trout, yellow perch, and rainbow trout. 🔹 Additional Information 🔹 ✔️ Our home is accessed directly off of Ashley Lake Rd. on the right. Apple maps will say it's on the left, but it is on the right. ✔️ We have 3 parking areas. Two of which are down the first private entrance. One will be the first left at the top of the cabin just feet after turning on the private drive. The second is the second left at the bottom of the cabin. The third is the right just as you pass the cabin on Ashley Lake rd. ✔️ The guest entrance into the cabin is located at the back (that is lakeside) entrance. There you will see an electronic keypad where you will put in your personal code that we will provide you shortly before your stay. ✔️ The public boat ramp is almost directly across the lake from the house. From the house you will make a right. Take the road all the way to the T, where you will make another right (keeping the lake on your right side). Follow the road around the lake until you see the small boat ramp sign. ✔️ The property is located in the mountains of Montana, so there could be encounters with potentially dangerous wildlife, including mountain lions, black bears, or grizzly bears. You can either buy bear spray in Kalispell or rent it from Glacier International Airport. ✔️ This location is best suited for people that prefer being outside the city limits where they can enjoy the peace and quiet, yet close enough to town so you can make a short drive for a day or night in Kalispell. ✔️ It is a very peaceful and friendly neighborhood. Our neighbors are great and respectful. Please be respectful to them as well. ✔️ Don't forget to ask about our pontoon boat package! ✔️ We invite you to come and create memories in our beautiful lake house! 🔹 Morgan, the property manager, is reachable through Airbnb, e-mail, or cellphone for any questions or concerns. He will be available at all times for our guest needs and is always happy to help.
