Outside your door, you will glimpse the famous Alexandria waterfront one block away, where you can catch an easy ferry access to Washington DC or across to National Harbour. Those who prefer can take a short Metro ride and arrive in our nation’s capital. The famous Virginia home of George and Martha Washington, Mount Vernon, is a half hour by taxi or car and an easy bike ride down the famous George Washington Parkway bike bath. Enjoy countless things to do here in the heart of Old Town. Located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, Cameron House is earns a 99 walk score - we are close to EVERYTHING. Take a stroll along charming cobblestone streets, explore the picturesque Potomac waterfront, and step back in time with a visit to one of Alexandria’s numerous historic landmarks. Getting Around: The enviable location of Cameron House makes Old Town very walkable (we are a 99 walk scale). Old Town is just outside of D.C. and you can one of two metros from Old Town straight into the city. Hop on our cute free Old Town trolley (one block away) to King St Metro and take the Blue or Yellow metro line into DC. We are also bike-friendly and have a bike trail steps from Cameron House to the National Mall, and even to Mount Vernon – the estate where George Washington lived. Other Things to Note: Please note that while Cameron House is completely renovated, it still retains its historic charm. You may experience some creaking floors, longer wait times for hot water, or slightly longer cooling times. Additionally, the stairs to the lower level are steep, and there is a limited handrail, so please take caution. Child gates are available for the little ones Cameron House is in the heart of Old Town and you will see and hear people passing by often. Tourists often linger and sit on our bench in front of the home (Cameron House is also featured on some local tours). While Old Town get's pretty quiet by 11P, the master bedroom may hear the occasional laughter and conversation of the errant passerby. This is a residential home in a historic neighborhood with residents who deeply appreciate the quiet times to be respected. PET POLICY: 1. Pet Eligibility: Old Town is a dog-friendly neighborhood and your four-legged family member will love her/his Old Town experience as much as you. The neighborhood dog park is on the waterfront just one block from Cameron House. Cameron House is also dog-friendly and welcomes many breeds of well-behaved dogs upon pre-approval. 2. Accepted Breeds: Cameron House accepts non-shedding or low-shedding dog breeds ONLY. This includes, but is not limited to, breeds such as Poodles, Bichon Frises, Portuguese Water Dogs, and Schnauzers. Guests should provide breed information upon booking confirmation. 3. Documentation: Guests must provide documentation verifying their pet's breed and vaccination records before arrival. Any misrepresentation of the pet's breed or behavior will result in immediate eviction without refund. 4. Number of Pets: Guests are limited to a maximum of _one_ pet per reservation. (Exceptional cases may be considered with prior approval) 5. Pet Fees: $80 per pet per stay up to five (5) nights. After 5 nights, a fee of $10 per additional night will apply. 6. Property Access: Pets are not permitted on indoor furniture. Cameron House supplies a dog bed, dog blankets and bowls for your convenience and enjoyment. Guests are responsible for ensuring their pets do not cause damage to the property or disturb neighbors. 8. Cleaning Responsibilities: Guests are expected to clean up after their pets both indoors and outdoors. Any damage caused by pets will be the financial responsibility of the guest. 9. Liability:
